The National Sewage Project in 48 Villages of Damanhour City, Egypt

The project’s objective is to establish a reliable and integrated sewage infrastructure including sewage networks, sewage pump stations,  wastewater treatment plants, in addition to house connections and drainage networks, backed up by the latest technologies in the field.
The project serves five main areas in Damanhour district with total population of 400,000 capita at target year 2050. 
The first area serves 6 groups of villages, each discharges sewage flow to Monshaat El Horea existing sewage treatment plant. 
The second area serves 9 groups of villages, each discharges sewage flow to Damanhur El-Khairy existing sewage treatment plant. 
The third area serves 2 groups of villages, each discharges sewage flow to Sharnoub sewage treatment plant (under construction) . 
The fourth area serves 3 groups of villages, each discharges sewage flow to Desons Om Denar new sewage treatment plant. 
The fifth area serves 2 groups of villages, each discharges sewage flow to Zawet Gazal new sewage treatment plant.
The following are the major components of the project:
Gravity sewer pipelines with diameters varying from 200 mm to 1000 mm and total length of 385 km.
Sewage force-main pipelines with diameters varying from 160 mm to 600 mm and total length of 116 km.
Twenty-nine sewage lift stations with capacities varying from 15 lit/sec to 300 lit/sec.
Expansion of Monshaat El Horea existing sewage treatment plant with design capacities of 23,649 m3/ day and 35,750 m3/day at target years 2030 and 2050 respectively.
Expansion of Damanhur El Khairy existing sewage treatment plant with design capacities of 158,444 m3/ day and 223,556 m3/ day at target years 2030 and 2050 respectively.
Design of Desons Om Denar new sewage treatment plant with design capacities of 24,811 m3/day and 37,241 m3/day at target years 2030 and 2050 respectively.
Design of Zawet Gazal new sewage treatment plant with design capacities of 10,160 m3/day and 154,30 m3/day at target years 2030 and 2050 respectively.
