Sustainable Rural Sanitation Services Program (SRSSP), Egypt

The Program’s development objective is to strengthen institutions and policies for increasing access and improving rural sanitation services at the Governorates of Beheira, Dakahliya, and Sharkiya in the Arab Republic of Egypt. The project is financed by the World Bank Group, as a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The program will improve access to sustainable services in rural areas. 

The project includes the establishment and functioning of at least 167000 new household connections to working sanitation systems in villages and sattelites which at least 10% of connections are in sattelites.

AAW Responsibilities

AAW’s role as an Independent Verification Agency (IVA) includes:
Random selection of sampling units from lists provided by the Water and Sanitation Company.
Identification of all sampled households.
Administration of a verification checklist in each household to deliver quality data from the physical verification exercise.
Desk-based data and documentation review.
Audit – on annual basis - the financial statements of the program.
Prepare an annual Results Verification Report (RVR).
Provide capacity building support.
