Upgrade of Salalah WRP from 35,000m3/day to 53,000m3/day (Phase III), and Extending the Total Capacity to be 123,000m3/day, Oman

he project includes the upgrade of the existing Water Reclamation Plant WRP (phase III) from 35,000m3/day to 53,000 m3/day and extending the total capacity to be 123,000m3/day. The implemented treatment plant use Activated Sludge (conventional type) and the main components of the upgrading works include:
Upgrading the pre-treatment unit 
Adding new pre-treatment works 
Primary sedimentation tank 
Biological Reactor (anoxic, aeration {nitrification & denitrification} )
Final sedimentation tank 
Upgrading the tertiary treatment (sand filter) 
New sand filter 
TE supply system (Treated water tank, pumps and TFS)
Odour control system 
Upgrade existing Sludge treatment 
Associated civil, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation including SCADA system 

The extension treatment plants use extended aeration process, oxidation ditch carousel type. The works, also, include design of tertiary treatment, sludge dewatering, disinfection, odour treatment system and all accessories and service buildings.
