Hydraulic Study and Concept Design for Makkah Water Supply System, KSA

The main objective of the study is to prepare a hydraulic study and concept design for Makkah Water Supply System outlining the consequences of taking the Million Reservoir out of service temporarily, and the remedial actions to be taken to mitigate the impact of the above during the peak demand periods of Ramadan and Hajj up to year 1443H.

Stage 1 - Hydraulic Study
Includes hydraulic analysis to investigate the impact of taking the million reservoir out of service on the performance of the Makkah transmission network. Three main scenarios shall be considered.

Scenario 1 (Year 1438H):
Base Scenario simulating the existing situation when the Million reservoir is still in service. Million reservoir is operated at 75% capacity.

Scenario 2 ( Year 1440H):
Emergency Scenario when the Million reservoir is out of service and the 760k reservoir is in service.

Scenario 3 (Year 1443H):
Solution Scenario simulating the proposed solution to overcome problems associated with taking the Million reservoir out of service.

Stage 2 - Concept Design
This stage includes carrying out the concept design for the proposed solutions, and perparation of concept design drawings, cost estimates and feasibility implementation plans.
