Water Supply & Wastewater Master Plan for Makkah Al-Mukarramah (Phase 1 & 2), KSA

Master plan for the city of Holy Makkah and its extensions till the year 2050 (119,000 ha). The work includes the upgrading of existing water supply and sanitary drainage facilities, and the extensions till the target year. Review and update of the master plan of the first phase to serve the second phase areas. Services include, preliminary designs and preparation of detailed design and tender documents for 20 contracts (total water pipes lengths = 2500 km and total wastewater sewer pipes lengths = 2200 km).

AAW Responsibilities

Detailed population and water consumption study, topographic survey, soil investigations, revision and evaluation of existing water and wastewater systems.
Extensive field investigations and assessment for the existing water and wastewater networks, pumping stations and treatment plants, followed by a sophisticated hydraulic analysis and modeling.
Establish comprehensive design criteria, standard design for the systems, which led to the Master Plan.
Preparation of 40-year detailed development Master Plan showing capacities and location of major facilities such as transmission lines, pump stations, reservoirs and treatment facilities.
Recommending number and extent of implementation contracts their priority and preliminary cost estimate.
Preparation of detailed design, specifications, drawings, Tender Documents and final cost estimate for 31 contracts (14 for waterworks & 17 for wastewater) each of approx. 100 million Saudi Riyals.
