In this part of the program the following works have been undertaken by AAW;
Rehabilitation, recommissioning of an abundant 10000 m3/day seawater multistage flash distillation plant incorporated with the existing power plant at Sharm El Sheikh.
Rehabilitation and recommissioning of an old electrodialyses brackish water desalination plant at Dahab City and upgrading its capacity from 1000 m3/day to 2400 m3/day of potable water meeting WHO standards.
Provision of three new R.O. desalination plants at Dahab (2000 m3/day), Neweiba (5000 m3/day) and Taba (2000 m3/day). The salinity of ground water varies dramatically between 2400 mg/I (TDS) at Dahab to 5000 and 12000 mg/I (TDS) at Neweiba and Taba, however, a product water of less than 500 mg/l TDS was achieved at a recovery rate of 65% to 75%.
